Responsible drinking

Enjoy responsibly

At Tequila Centinela we have spent more than a century making tequila to be enjoyed slowly, in good company and in moderation. We ask you to drink it that way, and only if you are of legal drinking age in your country.

Legal drinking age

In the United States the minimum age to purchase and consume alcohol is 21; in other countries it may differ. Our website, social media and advertising are intended only for people of legal drinking age. If you are a parent or guardian, please help us keep our products out of the reach of minors.

U.S. Surgeon General's warning

(1) According to the Surgeon General, women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects. (2) Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.

Don't drink and drive

Alcohol slows your reflexes and reaction time. If you are going to drink, leave the car, use public transport or a ride service, or ask someone who has not been drinking to drive.

Health and medication

If you take medication or have a health condition, talk to your doctor before drinking. Alcohol can interact with many treatments. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the recommendation is not to drink.

In moderation

The U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend that adults who choose to drink limit intake to two drinks a day for men and one for women. Alternate with water, eat before and while you drink, know your limit and respect it. Never pressure anyone to drink.

If you need help

If you or someone close to you has a problem with alcohol, free and confidential support is available. In the United States: SAMHSA National Helpline 1-800-662-4357 (HELP), 24 hours a day in English and Spanish. In Mexico: Línea de la Vida 800 911 2000. Elsewhere, contact your local health services.
